They say that the most used computer peripheral is the mouse. People use it to access all the various functions software applications have to offer – for example click the refresh button in the web browser. Computer veterans may argue and say the keyboard is the most used computer peripheral. That might be the case if you’re an experienced computer user who knows a keyboard shortcut is preferable to a mouse click.

The bottom line is that the mouse and the keyboard allow the computer user to interact with the computer and various software applications. For this the computer user only used his fingers, to click the mouse or press the keys on the keyboard.

Using your fingers is very nice, but what if you could use your voice instead. Just picture this for a moment: instead of clicking to access a website, you can speak out your intention and the computer accesses that website. Wouldn’t that be like something out of the Jetsons? Or any other futuristic show you might enjoy.

To make this hypothetical situation a reality you will need a specialized piece of software. Like for example the e-Speaking developed Voice and Speech Recognition, an application that weighs in at little over 2.5 MB (the download should complete in no time at all then).

You will also need a mike. The software is useless without the adequate hardware.

Now once you have e-Speaking Voice and Speech Recognition installed on your system, you can control your computer with your voice. Say you want to move the mouse cursor down one line. Just say “Down One.” Or let’s say you want to check your inbox to see if you have new messages. Just say “Open Email” and presto, your inbox is right there. This is of course just the tip of the iceberg. There are more than 100 commands built into e-Speaking Voice and Speech Recognition. Furthermore, you have the option to add more commands.

Make computer usage fun and fast by speaking out commands instead of clicking or typing. Use e-Speaking Voice and Speech Recognition.

Pros

  • Easy to use
  • More than 100 built-in commands
  • Option to add more commands
  • Works with all Windows versions

Cons

  • Shareware (free to use during the 30-day trial)
